A twenty-foot cube with scrim sides and a grand piano on top, “Music Box” creates a live performance space where the separately miced strings of the piano are wired to eighty-eight sound cones suspended above the audience within the cube, while video projections on the four scrim-sides of the cube surround the audience with an environment evoked by the music being performed.
